Heart Streatham Issue 55
It’s been a wonderful hot summer in Streatham. Festival season continues with the Streatham Free Film Festival this month, and you can plan your movies using the official guide in our centre spread. Scruff’s Fun Dog Show on Streatham Common by the Rookery Café also takes place this month. It’s a fantastic event run by the volunteers of the Friends of Streatham Common. This year there’s a fancy-dress horror movie theme! There are street parties at the Ferrer’s Triangle, Lewin Rd, and Valley Rd, and the Little Big Peace Festival returns with some relaxing free events to enjoy and the annual Peace Walk down the High Rd.
Streatham Festival is up next in October. Save the date for the Streatham Strut on 12 October- an epic free live gig rail from lunchtime to closing time in 10 venues over 10 hours. Book your tickets for the Festival Ceilidh on Saturday 19th October now – it was sold out with a waiting list last year! Look out for the full festival programme as it develops at www.streathamfestival.com and social media.
